Before MedleyHR was a product, it was an internal tool. Building it, our own team ran into the exact problems small businesses run into every day — recurring requests for payslip copies, leave approvals scattered across email and chat threads, and appraisals tracked in spreadsheets nobody fully trusted.
We spent over a year refining the system inside our own company, Codon Software — a technology company with more than 20 years building enterprise software — before opening it up publicly on August 3, 2026.
HR remains one of the least digitised functions in Indian business — even as accounting, CRM, and procurement have gone digital, most small companies still run HR on spreadsheets, WhatsApp, and email.
The gap isn't a lack of software. It's that most HR software is built for companies that already have an HR department. Platforms like Keka, Darwinbox, and Zoho People are solid products — but they assume a budget, an implementation team, and months of runway that a 15-person company doesn't have.
MedleyHR is built for the businesses in between: too big for spreadsheets, not ready for enterprise software. That covers most of India's 63 million-plus MSMEs.
