Salary Structure

The breakdown of an employee's total compensation into components like Basic, HRA, allowances, and deductions.

A salary structure is the framework a company uses to split total compensation into distinct components — Basic Salary, HRA, special allowances, and statutory deductions — rather than paying a single lump figure. Splitting pay this way lets employers offer tax-efficient structures while staying compliant with Indian labour law.

Every company structures compensation slightly differently, so the same CTC figure can produce different take-home pay depending on how it's split between Basic, HRA, and other components — which is why comparing two job offers by CTC alone is misleading.
