Offboarding

The structured process of closing out an employee's exit — revoking access, F&F settlement, and documentation handover.

Offboarding is the mirror process to onboarding — the structured steps taken when an employee leaves, including revoking system access, recovering company assets, completing Full & Final Settlement, and issuing final documentation like the relieving letter and Form 16.

Poorly managed offboarding creates real risk beyond a bad final impression — unrevoked access to systems and data after an employee's last day is a genuine security gap, which is why offboarding checklists typically treat access revocation as a same-day task, not something to get to eventually.
